Outwardly meek and mild but strong inside.
Thousands of sugarcane planters from the Northeast tried to put pressure on him by threatening to stage a big anti-government tally in front of the Government House unless their their demand for a 2-baht hike in the sugarcane price was met.
Given the fragility of the present coalition government,were anyone weak of heart in the government's shoes,they would definitely get the shakes and , of couse, would give a nod to the demand just to nip the problem in the bud.
However, this veteran MP is an excepteion. Much to surprise of sugarcane farmers, the gentle,easy-going yet strong-willed Premier did not how to their pressure,regardless of political consequences.
This Prime Minister's nature should thus be best described by the saying " Outwardly meek and mild,but strong inside"
